July 5th  2011, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, UAE:  Golfer are now able to play 18 holes of golf on Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s award-winning 27 hole course even when the stars come out, with the launch of night golf.

State-of-the-art lighting, which is on a par with that installed in many of the world’s top stadia, has been integrated into the lush surroundings of Abu Dhabi Golf Club to provide optimum playing conditions without natural daylight.

“Many golf enthusiasts in and around the capital are inhibited from playing golf due to their busy work schedules and unlike other parts of the world  there are no long summer nights, to allow seasonal play after working hours,” said Ken Kosak, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Golf Club. “With the installation of the new lighting, we are in effect creating those longer summer nights in Abu Dhabi – all year round!

”With demand and interest in golf continuing to grow in the region, the introduction of night golf is a natural response by the capital’s leading club to meet the increased demand by providing enjoyable year-round golf regardless of the hectic pace of modern life in Abu Dhabi.

“Whether you’re a serious amateur wanting to regularly play on a championship course or you’re simply after a social 9 holes with friends after work, we have now created new opportunities to play 7 nights a week offering great value for money and increased convenience for players, ” adds Kosak. “Moreover the launch in the height of the summer means golfers can opt to play in the cooler evenings.” 

The green fee rates are very competitive starting at AED275 for nine holes, a resident rate of AED225, while members guests pay just AED195 for a game including cart.  The last tee time for nine holes is 21.00. For 18 the times vary depending on sunset. 

“The addition of night golf adds another dimension to the ever popular ADGC, following the completion of the major clubhouse renovation earlier this year,” says Kosak. “Night golf allows golfers to experience the social side of golfing in a relaxed and informal way. And after completing their round, a wide variety of outlets from top restaurants to simple yet tasteful cuisine for the whole family in Café 28, are available to round off the night.
