July 17th 2011, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, UAE: Abu Dhabi Golf Club hosted its first Summer Open in association with Millennium Hotels yesterday. In testing weather conditions the scoring in the shamble format was excellent.

With a score of 65 Andrew and Lina Tyson’s efforts were good enough to take 3rd place outright. Musa Abu–Hijleh and son Ahmed Abu-Hijleh scored an excellent score of 64. However this was only good enough to take the runners-up spot. In the end the Summer Open title went to John Albertson of Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Mike Welch of The Montgomerie. John and Mike took victory by one shot with an exceptional score of 63.
